Guardian Technologies are passionate about helping to manage the risk to your business information, providing the right tools to help you protect and share it.  The business has been growing over the last few months and we are delighted to welcome Tony Moustafa, our new Account Director to the team.  We wanted to find out a bit more about Tony, here is what he had to say:

1.What is your background?

My background is in chemical engineering, in particular, consulting and design within the refining, oil and gas sectors. Much of this experience has been part of very large projects for blue chip companies in Azerbaijan, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Australia and UK.

Having had a successful career in the chemical engineering industry, I’m now looking for a new career challenge as the oil and gas recession and fracking sector have affected the long-term future of the industry. I believe the information security sector has an exciting future ahead with lots of potential work in the UK.

2.What are your first experiences of working with Guardian Technologies?

Starting at Guardian Technologies has been enjoyable and it’s been great getting to know Barrie, Justin and the team. So far, I’ve met key clients, and have been looking into their needs and how we can strengthen the business relationship with them, particularly with post training support.  Recently, I have been getting to know two of our software partners, EgoSecure and Seclore, meeting some of their teams at the Info Sec exhibition at Olympia back in June.

3.What are you enjoying most about working with Guardian Technologies?

The people, I regularly need to connect with customers, software partners and Guardian’s team in order to ensure the customer’s needs are being met.  Also, the diversity of sectors I’m involved in keeps the work very interesting too.

4.What are the most challenging aspects of your role with Guardian Technologies?

The most challenging aspect of the role has been to understand a completely new field of technology and all of the new terminology it uses.  I know I will be able to absorb all of this; I just have a lot of catching up to do!

5.Your background is not from the IT sector, what similarities are you seeing?

The multi-discipline teams working on bespoke projects, a demand for quick solutions to customer’s problems and the agility of keeping up new and varied customer requirements.

6.What challenges do you see that the IT sector faces over the next 1-3 years?

With the market offering more cloud-based services, I see the immediate challenge is persuading businesses that cloud services are already secure enough to cope with information security risks / threats.

7.Describe yourself in five words.

Co-operative, Proactive, Sporty, Persistent and Loyal.

8.Tell us something unusual about yourself.

Less so about me, my Mum’s cousin is a famous Irish jockey – Pat Smullen.

Many thanks to Tony for taking the time out to speak with us!
